  • 8 February
    • The United States (U.S.) Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold a hearing titled “Responding to and Learning from the Log4Shell Vulnerability.”
    • The United States (U.S.) House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing titled “Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: The President’s Working Group on Financial Markets’ Report on Stablecoins.”
  • 9 February
    • The United States (U.S.) Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will take the rare step of holding a second nomination hearing for Gigi Sohn to be a Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
    • The United States (U.S.) House Veterans Affairs Committee’s Technology Modernization and Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Subcommittees will hold a joint hearing titled “IT Infrastructure Modernization: Addressing Ongoing Challenges and the Path Forward.”
    • The United States (U.S.) Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee will hold a hearing titled “Examining Digital Assets: Risks, Regulation, and Innovation.”
    • The United States (U.S.) Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will consider the nominations of Shalanda Young to be the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Nani A. Coloretti to be the Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Dimitri Kusnezov to be the Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Science and Technology.

    • The United States Judiciary Committee will consider the following bills and nominations:

      • Sharon Bradford Franklin to be the Chair of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board

  • 18 February
    • The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will hold an open meeting with this agenda:
      • Promoting Telehealth in Rural America. The Commission will consider a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would seek comment on reforms to the urban and rural rates determination process for the Rural Health Care Program’s Telecommunications Program, revisions to Rural Health Care Program rules governing the internal funding cap on upfront payments and multi-year contracts, and modifications to the Rural Health Care Program invoicing procedures. (WC Docket No. 17-310)
      • Aureon Refund Data Order. The Commission will consider an Order requiring Iowa Network Access Division (d/b/a Aureon) to file cost and demand data to enable Commission staff to calculate appropriate refunds due to Aureon’s customers after two investigations into Aureon’s tariffed switched transport rate. (WC Docket No. 18-60)
      • Updating Technical Rules for Radio Broadcasters. The Commission will consider a Report and Order to eliminate or amend outmoded or unnecessary broadcast technical rules. (MB Docket No. 21-263)
      • Enforcement Bureau Action. The Commission will consider an enforcement action

    • The European Data Protection Supervisor will hold a conference titled “The future of data protection: effective enforcement in the digital world.”
